School Motto

Okayama Hosen High School was founded in 1974  as the fourth academic high school in Okayama city, in response to the strong wishes of the people of Okayama.

Since its establishment, this school has provided an exclusively academic education.

Now that almost all its students want to go on to university or college, major consideration is given to help them cope with entrance examinations to institutions of higher education. Besides an emphasis on intellectual pursuits and academic excellence, great efforts are made to provide the students with the educational opportunities to develop a well-rounded personality with which they can pursue their own goals.

The school has been successful in every field of its educational activities, and it has turned out more than 11,400 graduates, who are now actively taking part in Japanese  society, as well as in various societies in the world.

Always with the student's best interests in mind, 2002 marked the implementation of 2 new systems at Okayama Hosen High School. These consisted of a change in semesters and in curriculum.
Formally having 3 semesters per year, a 2-semester system has now been adopted. More importantly, the school curriculum has changed to the more productive credit point system, allowing students further opportunities in their studies and continually keeping Hosen up to date with the future of education.
